Polo Beach Club at Wailea in MauiThis page is not offical page of Polo Beach Club. I,Kazuyoshi Nagato, wrote it based on my experience.1.Location The Polo Beach Club is located at south side of Waile, just border between wailea and Makena. It's next is Kea Lani Hotel. Because you can go to hotel by beach side road, you can do sopping or have breakfast at the hotel. But as the restaurant of hotel is too expensive, if you want to spend more cheaply, I recommend you to go to Kihei town. There are many general restaurant or shop, for example, Deny's, Macdonald and Pizza Hat. As also major super market, K-mart and Food Land, are there, you can buy breads, milk, meats, fruits and vegetables. I recommend you to make a meal in you room without eating-out. Polo Beach Club is sounded like horse riding club. But here is no horse. 2.Access You have to rent a car, because Polo Beach has no bus and taxi. After reached at Maui airport, first of all, you rent a car. You go to Wailea. On the way from airport to Wailea, You can see big sugarcane factory. There are two way from there to Wailea. One is a high way and another is a road near the shore line. The end of high way is Wailea area. You can reach Polo Beach as turn left at the T cross and go a while. If you choose shore line road, you can see several shop, restaurant and super market. The road run at the center of Kihei town. You have to see here well, because you have to do shopping here for breakfast or lunch. You can reach Polo Beach right side as going straight on shore line road. 3.System A part of Polo Beach Club are managed by distributor. I rent a room from Destination Resorts(D.R.). D.R.'s office is located in Wailea shopping center. You have to check in here before go to Polo Beach. You can get your room key, map of Wailea and some document about accomodation. You can also reserve option service, for example dinner cruise or rental body board, here. I heard that the half of room are owner system. If you want to rent a room more cheaply, you order to owner directly. I don't know how to do. But I got a mail from an American, who did so before. 4.Accommodations The condominium is a fifth floor and white building. Polo beach has a pool, parking and private beach(Polo Beach). The building is standing close the beach. There is fence and a gate which locked by key. You have to pay fifty dollar, if you lose it. You can get a key of this fence at a condominium office. The office is located front center of the building site. Be careful as the office closed after five and on Sunday. The room type is two, One bedroom and two bedroom. 5.My Impression The Polo Beach Club is a luxury condominium. I stayed with my family, my wife and son. Here was a good condominium for family. But I felt inconvenient about communication between office staffs and me. I often could not hear what they said, because their speaking speed was too fast for me. If you,non-native, stay here, you,maybe, have to train your conversation in English. |
